The Salvation Army’s Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (WUM) Division is made up of 26 corps (churches), many of which have existing music programs or are looking to develop music programs. These generally operate on a weekly basis, and include regular music education and spiritual guidance for people in a diverse range of expressions, including brass bands, choirs, and praise bands.
Each summer a week-long music camp is held at Army Lake Camp in East Troy, Wisconsin. This camp offers a wide range of musical and artistic expression, including brass, vocal, guitar, keyboard, drama, dance, percussion, ukulele, recorders, and leadership skills. The aim is to teach campers about music and presenting the Gospel. We push towards teaching them how the message of music can not only be present in showing Christ's love to themselves but others as well. So that, when they return to their corps, campers can explain and show how much music and Christ's love means to them.
