The Territory’s goal for the Territorial Singing Company Festival, is to maximize, improve and sustain corps participation and quality of singing companies in each of the ten divisions in support of the Live Music by 2020 initiative.

This event is to allow Corps Singing Companies to be evaluated publically and earn a rating of Exemplary, Accomplished or Developing. The event is being designed to be as inclusive as possible; giving an opportunity for young people to be impacted by a Salvation Army event bigger than their local corps. Consideration will be made for video adjudication or live-stream involvement for Singing Companies where distance may prevent them from attending the festival.

Singing Company is a marvelous opportunity for bridging young people and their families to the corps, and the greater Salvation Army, resulting in an increased enrollment of Junior Soldiers and followers of Christ.

Please take note there is not one winner but any Singing Company that earns an “Exemplary” rating will be invited to participate in the United Singing Company for the 2017 Family Congress. Each division is being asked to send a minimum of 20 Singing Company members (ages 7-16) to Congress. Each Singing Company participant will be asked to wear the Junior Soldier uniform (blue and white) for the performance of the Saturday evening program.

Housing provisions have been made at Camp Wonderland for Singing Companies traveling from a distance. The territory will underwrite the cost of a charter bus from each division. In accordance with the Orders & Regulations, two helpers may sing and travel with the group as chaperones, in addition to the leader.
